Meet Dr. Hynes

Michael F. Hynes, M.D., F.A.C.S. is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He has been in private practice since 1980.

Physicians who have obtained this Board Certification are not limited to plastic surgery of the face. They have gained extensive training and passed the rigorous exams and evaluations that qualifies them to perform cosmetic and reconstructive surgery on the face, neck and entire body. It is important to know a surgeon's credentials and to select one who is fully trained and is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Hynes has been serving Johnson County and Kansas City for more than 25 years, making him one of the most experienced Plastic Surgeons in the area.

The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) is the ONLY recognized board by the American Board of Medical Specialties to award Board Certification in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The American Board of Plastic Surgery requires a surgeon to have a Prerequisite Surgical training residency (minimum of three to four years) followed by the completion of an approved Plastic Surgical residency program (an added two to three years). Following medical school, Dr. Hynes completed six full years of a General Surgical residency and then completed an additional two year residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Hynes has been "Board Certified" since 1981.

Dr. Hynes graduated with honors from the University of Dayton, Ohio and was awarded his Medical Degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Hynes completed his eight years of residency training programs in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
