Mommy Makeover

One of the newest trends in Cosmetic Surgery is the MOMMY MAKEOVER.  It is a combination of Cosmetic surgeries performed on the same surgery day to help young mothers regain their pre-pregnancy shape.  Most commonly it is the combination of a Breast Augmentation or Lift and a Tummy Tuck.  Many post-pregnancy women have returned to their ideal weight, they are fit and lead healthy life styles.  However, following their pregnancies they have flabby tummies and breasts that no longer have the fullness they once had and some women wear bras that are one full size or more smaller than they did before having children.   

There are definite advantages to combining these 2 surgeries of a Mommy Makeover.  One is the cost is usually less than having the 2 procedures done separately as there is only one Anesthesia required and one out patient hospital stay.  Also, the patient has less total "down time" as she only recovers from one day of surgery.  Combining these 2 surgeries is also safe.  A 10 year retrospective review of 268 patients in a medical study completed in 2007 found that combining breast surgery and a Tummy Tuck – commonly known as a "mommy makeover" – is a safe and effective option for healthy patients.  All of these surgeries were performed by Board Certified Plastic Surgeons in the United States.  The complete study was published in the March/April 2009 issue of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.  Dr. Hynes has performed 100's of the Mommy Makeover surgeries and he is an Expert in combining cosmetic surgery procedures.
